): Quixote ceramic statue
Hi.
I have a figurine that I know is supposed to be Don Quixote just by looking at it. I think it may have been copied from someone's painting, but I can't find who it is. It shows Quixote sitting on the ground, one knee up with hands on each lower leg. He is wearing that flat round hat. The only possible markings I can find are slight indentations under the brim of the hat which can only be seen under the right light/shadow conditions. It looks like, "0763 N_PL"...maybe. It's very faint.
All I really want to know is which artist made the original figurine or painting which was copied. My in-laws obtained this on one of their many trips as world travelors.
Any information would be appreciated. If there was a way to insert a photo, I would.
Thank you,
